Liz Davis is the co-founder & CEO of Northwest Venture Philanthropy, a foundation that helps social-purpose organizations build capacity to optimize community impact and improve the lives of children. Since 2013, she has served as the facilitator of the Thurston Council for Children and Youth, a county-wide coalition working to reduce childhood trauma and increase resiliency among children, youth, and families. In 2014, the Thurston County Board of Health appointed her to the Cascade Pacific Action Alliance Council, which works to align actions in a seven-county region to achieve healthy communities and populations, improve health care quality, and lower costs.
Liz has more than 15 years’ professional experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She is a Project Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, National Board Certified Teacher, and certified professional writer with expertise in strategy, community engagement, education and training, organizational development, and communications. She has worked as a project manager, learning and development specialist, and strategy consultant at State Farm; chair of the English department at River Ridge High School; and writer in the office of former Washington State Governor Gary Locke.
Liz volunteers extensively in her community; she is currently the Vice President of the Child Care Action Council and a member of the board of directors of the United Way of Thurston County. She is a longtime member and Past President of the Junior League of Olympia and has served on the board of the Association of Junior Leagues International.
