Leadership Development at the Department of Agriculture

CLIENT: Washington State Department of Agriculture from: 07/01/2016 - 03/31/2017

The Athena Group’s LaVonne Dorsey is working with The Washington State Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Consumer Services Division to provide leadership development. Leadership development starts with helping leaders understand their strengths and areas of growth. The 360 Degree Feedback is a process in which employees receive confidential, anonymous feedback from the people who work around them. This typically includes the employee’s manager, peers, customers and direct reports. The ability to skillfully assess and receive feedback is an important aspect of learning. Data and input from others provides a baseline for leadership development and training, and helps us to adjust our behaviors, fine-tune our skills to effectively achieve our goals, and promotes accountability.

Athena's Role

LaVonne will design the 360 Feedback Assessment, including goal-setting plans, coaching exercises, One:One coaching sessions, and group coaching sessions. She is also developing training as needed and facilitating knowledge exchange sessions. LaVonne also developed a survey and questionnaire for assessment and evaluation.
