Carolyn is a seasoned Human Resources professional with 25+ experience primarily at the VP and leadership levels in retail, healthcare, financial services, and non-profit industries. She has served as an advisor and problem solver to senior leadership by providing human resource solutions to business challenges and opportunities. Her experience with DEI work spans the history of inclusion starting with her first role as an Investigator for harassment and discrimination complaints and union grievances. She then transitioned to an HR analyst developing workplace plans to increase diversity and inclusion. She is especially adept at conducting reviews and analyses to identify and correct workplace inequities including adverse selection and promotion patterns and pay inequity. A recent significant role was as the VP of Talent Acquisition to operationalize recruitment and retention strategies to attract, employ and retain women and minorities so that the organization reflected the communities it served. Other recent DEI work was where she partnered with senior leadership on the development and design of a DEI initiative aimed not only at increasing workplace diversity but also ensuring that communities of color would have access to and be recipients of clean, renewable energy. Carolyn is currently working as an independent coach and contractor. Recent roles have been training internal executives as Coaches for a National Leadership Development Program. She holds a BS in Human Resources and Organization Behavior from the University of San Francisco and an MS in Human Resources from the University of Southern California. She is a certified coach having received her CPCC certification from the Coaches Training Institute and an PA designation from the International Coaching Federation as well as a variety of certifications including Certified Diversity Recruiter and Myers-Briggs.
