Nakia Winfield, (pronouns- open to all) is an anti-racism educator, workshop facilitator, and leadership coach who uses an interdisciplinary, anti-oppressive lens to examine power dynamics across social systems and help organizations find liberation through authentic alignment with their values. Nakia’s liberation work includes dynamic, vulnerable, and difficult-but-worthwhile conversations around race, power, and humanity. Since 2017, Nakia has been using Liberating Structures to model flattened hierarchy in all her facilitation and anti-racism work. From accountability-focused community meetings with the Austin Police Department, to leadership coaching, to collective power analyses, Nakia holds a container for both deep authenticity and deep accountability in our collective, lifelong journey towards being more human.
