Implicit and Explicit Bias
This training empowers individuals, teams, and organizations to recognize, discuss, and address biases that influence decision-making, workplace culture, and equity. By mindfully exploring implicit bias, organizations can create inclusive environments where employees thrive, collaborate, and contribute.
Our Implicit and Explicit Bias Training equips people with the knowledge and tools needed to identify and address personal and organizational biases, fostering a culture of inclusion and equity. We help organizations establish a shared foundation of understanding that drives accountability and meaningful change. This training introduces participants to key concepts of bias through the Washington State Office of Financial Management's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Glossary, creating a shared language. Grounded in research, participants will explore the psychological roots of implicit stereotypes and prejudice, setting the stage for deeper discussions on the role of bias in decision-making and organizational culture.
By the end of the training, participants who engage with the content will:
- Recognize how implicit and explicit biases influence organizational culture and decision-making
- Acquire tools to identify and address bias in workplace interactions and policies
- Learn strategies for courageous and productive conversations about bias
- Practice mindfulness techniques to support self-awareness and resilience
- Understand the scope, strengths, and limitations of implicit association tests
- Build a strong foundation of bias-related terminology and concepts
